We had a truly amazing experience at De Salone! The stylists here are truly skilled and understand how to work with natural curls. I was searching for a salon in Penang that could handle naturally curly hair, and I’m so grateful to have found this gem. My stylist, Manjia, was not only incredibly kind but also highly talented —she gave my curls the perfect cut for added volume and even offered to diffuse-dry them, which I loved. Unlike other salons that often suggest straightening my hair, De Salone fully embraced my natural curls, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. My hair color turned out flawless, and my daughter also had her hair cut by stylist, Jeff, whose work was equally fantastic. He was very detailed and precise with the haircut and followed the reference photo we showed. We both opted for hair treatments as well, which were incredibly effective. During my stay at the E&O, I decided to try the salon inside, expecting the same level of excellence as the hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. The stylist gave me a rough cut that felt incomplete, no trimming, no shaping, just a quick chop. He was disengaged throughout, showing little care or professionalism. The hair wash was even worse: the assistant couldn’t understand simple English requests. Water and soap were splashed across my face, and water poured straight into my ears. What struck me most was the difference in treatment. Local customers received attentive service, with the stylist himself carefully washing their hair. With me, the only interaction was an attempt to upsell a hair mask I didn’t need. The salon’s service is far below the standards of the E&O Hotel, and I walked out with an unfinished haircut and a very unpleasant impression. I would strongly advise tourists to avoid this salon.

很差的一家店，服务很不专业，洗发过程抓伤我的耳朵，而且一直推荐做很贵却产品很差的头发护理，我问是什么产品，他们很蔑视的强调说这里的用的是高级洗发水！其实就是资生堂，我问有没有卡诗，他们竟然连卡诗是什么都不知道…………洗完头发连精油不愿意给我用………也不给我梳好………吹干就没了………不会再来第二次～什么破玩意儿

Ik liep hier binnen om te kijken of ze komende week plek hadden. Ik kon meteen plaats nemen, de stylist bekeek mijn haar en gaf het advies om een scalp treatment bij te boeken. Mijn hoofdhuid is erg droog en schilferig, dus naar het advies van de stylist geluisterd. Ik heb krullend haar waar niet iedereen kan knippen, maar de stylist leverde erg goed werk en heeft het mooi geknipt. Ook de scalp treatment was erg aangenaam en mijn hoofdhuid heeft nog nooit zo schoon gevoeld. 3 weken later heb ik hier nog steeds profijt van, de jeuk en schilfers zijn nog steeds weg! Ook de scalp massage die je krijgt is erg fijn, ik kan iedereen deze salon aanraden!!

The team at De Salone are true artisans—they took their time to ensure every detail was perfect, and the results were outstanding. I've got very straight hair and I'm very fussy who cuts it as there is no room for error. Whilst on holiday in Penang I decided to get my haircut as the humidity was not doing my hair any favours. I checked several Google reviews and chose Eddie. I was delighted with my new cut, a conventional bob which is what I wanted. Eddie knows his craft, he speaks very good English, he is easy to chat to and the whole salon experience was very pleasant. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Eddie at De Salone Hair and Nail Saloon.
