I recently consulted Dr. Shankar Gunarasa for endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures. While he appears experienced and knowledgeable, there are several aspects that prospective patients should be aware of. The hospital facilities are quite outdated, and the overall environment does not reflect the level of cleanliness and modern standards one would typically expect. Additionally, the costs for procedures here are significantly higher compared to other hospitals and clinics offering the same services. Patients considering a consultation should be prepared for substantial expenses. In my opinion, although the doctor’s expertise may be valuable, the combination of high charges and less-than-ideal hospital conditions makes the overall experience less satisfactory.

Called a day earlier and was told it’s first come, first served and opens at 9:00 AM. I arrived at 9:00AM and registered, but the doctor was delayed and did not arrive until after 10:05AM. A short delay is understandable, but patients should be informed earlier if the doctor is running late or in surgery. Otherwise, the service was okay.

Doctor Shankar is simply outstanding. He performed successful surgeries on both my husband's leg and hand, and I couldn't be more grateful. His skills are top-notch, and his kindness shines through in every interaction. I highly recommend him as one of the best doctors in the country.
